What do you do when you can’t find what you are looking for, and find yourself stuck in a holding pattern, waiting for something to happen? Why not try to find other avenues and other ways to improve and keep going!
As most of you know, my husband got a new job in January and we relocated to Washington, D.C. For a small business owner with customers that were mainly based in my former city, the relocation made running my boutique a bit difficult. Thankfully, I’m still able to make it back to San Antonio at least once a month for events, but it’s been important for me to use my downtime in D.C. to work on other aspects of my business, like photography. It’s still a work in progress, but I have come a long way from when I first started more than three years ago!
I started out by working with a professional photographer who gave me tips and tricks and made me more confident and comfortable in my own picture taking abilities (even selfies!). I used to HATE putting pictures of myself online, but I now know it’s important that people get to know the person behind the business. While I’m still not a huge fan of putting myself out there, I’m a lot more comfortable than I was in the past, and you learn to use what you have.
I’ve also had the opportunity to do more research on the vendors I want to work with and types of jewelry that I want to carry. I always get asked so many questions about the jewelry that I sell. Everyone wants to know what it is made of, will it tarnish, will it react with my skin, and I am listening! I always want to provide you with the best possible quality at the best possible prices. If you have more questions or suggestions, let me know. I’m always happy to help in any way I can; I love hearing from you!
Following my dreams, one day at a time!
